Shopify integration

Connect Auto SEO to Shopify

About 7 minutes. Auto SEO uses a Shopify custom-app access token to write blog articles, refresh product descriptions, and inject schema — without touching your theme.

  1. 1

Create a custom app in Shopify admin

Admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app. Name it 'Auto SEO'.

  2. 2

    Grant Admin API scopes

Configure Admin API scopes: read/write for products, content (articles & blogs), and metafields. Save.

  3. 3

Install + reveal the access token

Install the app on your store, then click 'Reveal token once'. Copy the shpat_… string immediately.

  4. 4

    Authorize in Auto SEO

In Auto SEO → Integrations → Shopify → Add Store. Paste your *.myshopify.com domain and the access token.

  5. 5

    Map the target blog

Choose which Shopify blog receives new articles, or let Auto SEO create one. Optional: enable product-copy refresh.

What gets published

  • Blog article with H2/H3 outline and TOC.
  • Featured image (auto-generated or pulled from your library).
  • Meta title and description (Shopify-native SEO fields).
  • Internal links to top-ranking product and collection pages.
  • Schema.org Article markup and Open Graph tags.

Troubleshooting

If the access token returns 401, regenerate it (Shopify shows tokens only once) and re-authorize from Auto SEO. For rate-limit errors, lower your daily publishing cadence to 1 article/day; Shopify's Admin API throttles aggressively for new stores.
