Automated SEO reports
Automated SEO reports that build themselves from your own data
No monthly assembly. Auto SEO turns your Search Console property, tracked keywords, AI-answer checks and publishing calendar into one client-ready report that is always current — shared as a link, printed to PDF, or white-labelled on the Agency plan.
Quick answer
What are automated SEO reports?
Automated SEO reports are performance reports that software assembles on its own from live data — Search Console clicks and impressions, keyword positions, audit scores, published articles — instead of someone building them by hand each month. In Auto SEO the report is a live, shareable page per website that always shows the last 30 days against the 30 before, plus a weekly digest email that lists what moved and one recommended next action.
What is automated seo reports?
Automated SEO reports are performance reports that software assembles from live data sources — Search Console, rank tracking, audits, published content — on its own, so nobody copies numbers into a slide deck. Auto SEO generates one per website: a shareable client report covering the last 30 days, a weekly digest email, and a JSON export.
Want the automation behind the numbers, not just the report?
This page is about reporting: what the report contains, where each number comes from, how to share it, and what is not automated yet. The work that produces those numbers — keyword research, content, technical fixes, publishing — is covered on the SEO automation page.
SEO automation: what can be automated, and how →What is in an automated SEO report from Auto SEO
Every figure on the client report is pulled live when the page is opened. This is the full list — nothing on the report is estimated or modelled.
| Section | Where the number comes from | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks, impressions, average position, CTR — with the change in clicks | Your own Google Search Console property (read through the Search Console connection) | Last 30 days vs the previous 30 |
| Rank movement: keywords tracked, how many in the top 10, improved vs declined, biggest moves | Tracked keywords and their position history in Auto SEO | First vs latest position in the window |
| AI answer visibility: share of voice and who was cited instead of you | Prompts tracked in the AI Tracker (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews) | Latest tracked runs |
| Articles published, with titles | Your content calendar and publishing log | Last 30 days |
| SEO, AEO and speed scores out of 100 | The most recent site audit | Latest audit |
| Wins and issues to fix | Audit findings and rank alerts | Current |
If a source is not connected (no Search Console, no tracked prompts) that section says so instead of showing a placeholder number.
Automated SEO reporting, section by section: a sample client report read top to bottom
This is the order in which the shared client report reads, and exactly how each figure is computed. It is the same page your client opens from the link; nothing here is modelled, sampled or estimated.
Header and reporting period
The report names the site and the 30-day window it covers. The window ends two days before today, because Search Console figures are only final after a two-day lag; the comparison window is the 30 days before that. On the Agency plan the header shows your brand name and logo instead of ours.
Search Console: clicks, impressions, average position, CTR
Two totals queries against your own Search Console property — one for the current window, one for the previous — read with the property connected to your account. Average position is rounded to one decimal and CTR to a tenth of a percent. The change in clicks is a percentage against the previous window and is left out when the previous window had no clicks, so you never see a meaningless +∞. If Search Console is not connected, the section says so.
Rank movement
For every tracked keyword with a position captured in the last 30 days, the first and the latest captured positions are compared; a lower number is an improvement. The report shows keywords tracked, how many sit in the top 10 right now, how many improved and declined, and the eight biggest moves with their current position.
AI answer visibility
If the site has active prompts in the AI Tracker, share of voice is computed from the latest tracked runs across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, including which domains were cited instead of you. With no prompts, or no completed checks, the section is left out rather than shown at zero.
Articles published
The number of articles with status published in the window, and up to eight of their titles, newest first, from the publishing log — so the client sees what was delivered next to what moved.
SEO, AI-readiness and speed scores
The most recent site audit scores out of 100, read from a cache that is refreshed at most every 12 hours, so opening the report never triggers a re-crawl or a PageSpeed run and the client always gets the page instantly.
The share link itself
One share token is created per website and reused: clicking 'Open client report' again returns the same URL, so a link you sent last month keeps working and keeps showing live figures. Anyone with the link can read it; no login is required.
White-label check at render time
Branding is read from the share owner's current plan every time the page renders. While the plan is Agency or enterprise the report shows your name, logo, accent colour and a 'Prepared by' footer; after a downgrade the same link keeps working, with Auto SEO's branding.
Print to PDF
The layout is A4-friendly, so the browser's print-to-PDF produces the deliverable; a JSON download of the same summary is available from the Reports tab for your own dashboards.
The weekly digest that follows it
Every Monday, each user receives a digest of the week: rankings up and down, articles published, AI citations, and one recommended action chosen from the data — the biggest decline to refresh, a missing article to generate, or an improved keyword to push with internal links. It is sent at most once every six days and can be unsubscribed.
Each rule above is how the report builder works as shipped on 5 September 2026. Wins and issues to fix appear on the Reports tab in the dashboard, alongside this summary.
How Auto SEO does it
Connect the data
Add the website and connect Google Search Console. Rankings come from your own property; tracked keywords and AI prompts are set once in the dashboard.
The report assembles itself
Open Analytics → Reports and the SEO summary is there: traffic, keywords and average position, articles, on-page score, wins, and issues to fix. No build step.
Share it as a link, or print it
One click creates a client report link that needs no login; anyone with it sees live figures for the last 30 days. The layout is A4-friendly, so print to PDF for delivery.
Let the weekly digest do the follow-up
Every Monday each user gets a digest of what moved — rankings up and down, published articles, AI citations — with one recommended action. It is sent at most once every six days and can be unsubscribed.
What you get
- Live, not exportedThe client report renders from current data every time it is opened, so a link sent in March is still right in June.
- Your data, reconcilableGoogle figures come from your own Search Console property — the numbers Google reports for your site, not a third-party scrape.
- White-label on AgencyAgency and enterprise plans replace Auto SEO's branding with your name, logo and accent colour, and a 'Prepared by' footer. Downgrade and the branding switches off without breaking existing links.
- Badge, JSON and digestEmbed a live score badge on your site, download the report as JSON, and receive the weekly digest by email — all on every plan.
Shipped vs roadmap
What is shipped, and what is not
Shipped today: the live client report link with white-label branding on Agency, print-to-PDF, the JSON export, the score badge, and the weekly digest email. Not shipped today, and we say so rather than imply it: scheduled emailing of the client report to your clients on a cadence, custom date ranges (the report is fixed to the last 30 days), and a drag-and-drop report builder or Looker Studio connector. If one of those is the deciding factor for you, ask us before you subscribe and we will tell you exactly where it stands.
Why Auto SEO
- Reporting is included on every plan, not a per-client or per-report fee.
- The same platform produces the results it reports on — research, content, fixes and publishing — so a bad number can become a task instead of a footnote.
- AI-answer citations sit next to Google rankings in the same report, which most reporting tools do not show at all.
- We list what the report cannot do yet in plain text on this page.
Automated SEO reports — FAQ
How do I automate SEO reporting?
Connect the sources once — Google Search Console for traffic and positions, a keyword list for rank tracking, a few buyer prompts for AI-answer tracking — and let software build the report from them on demand. In Auto SEO that is the Reports tab: the summary is generated when you open it, the client link renders live figures whenever a client opens it, and the weekly digest email goes out on its own.
How do I create automated SEO reports for my clients?
Add each client site to your workspace, connect its Search Console property, and open Analytics → Reports for that site. 'Open client report' creates a link that needs no login; send it or print it to PDF. On the Agency plan the report carries your brand instead of ours. One workspace covers up to five client sites on Agency.
How do I create white-label SEO reports and automate them?
White-label reporting is an Agency-plan feature: in the Reports tab set your brand name, logo and accent colour once, and every client report link you share renders with your branding and a 'Prepared by' footer. The numbers update themselves, so the same link stays current month after month.
How do I choose an automated SEO reporting tool?
Check four things: where the numbers come from (your own Search Console beats a modelled estimate), whether the report is live or a static export, whether it covers AI answer engines as well as Google, and whether the tool only reports or also does the work. Then read what the vendor says it does not do — a reporting page that lists no limits is hiding them.
What are the benefits of automated SEO reporting?
Time — no monthly assembly; accuracy — figures come from the source systems instead of being retyped; consistency — every client gets the same structure; and speed to action — when the report is generated by the platform that also does the work, a decline becomes a task in the same place.
What is the best automated SEO reports tool?
If you only need dashboards, dedicated reporting tools such as SE Ranking's reporting module or AgencyAnalytics, or a Looker Studio dashboard on top of Search Console, are built for that and offer more layout control. If you want the report and the work behind it in one place — research, content, fixes, publishing, tracking — Auto SEO is built for that, and its report is included on every plan.
Does Auto SEO email the report to my clients on a schedule?
Not today. The weekly digest email goes to you and your team; the client report is a live link you share or print to PDF. Scheduled client emailing is listed under 'not shipped' above so nobody buys on a feature that is not there yet.
Can I export the SEO report to PDF?
Yes — the client report page is laid out for A4, so use your browser's print-to-PDF. A JSON download of the summary is also available from the Reports tab.
How do I automate monthly SEO reports for clients?
The client report is a rolling 30-day window rather than a calendar month, so the monthly routine is: open the client link (or print it to PDF) on the first working day of the month and send it. Because the link is permanent and live, the same URL works every month. Custom calendar-month ranges are not shipped today and are listed under 'not shipped' above.
How often does an automated SEO report update?
The client report is rebuilt every time it is opened. Search Console figures carry Google's two-day lag, so the window always ends two days before today; rank positions update as tracked keywords are checked; audit scores refresh at most every 12 hours; the digest email is weekly. Nothing is cached for longer than that.
What is the difference between automated SEO dashboards and automated SEO reports?
A dashboard is the live screen your team works from — in Auto SEO that is the Analytics tab, with wins and issues to fix. A report is the client-facing view of a fixed window. Auto SEO's client report is both at once: a live page, fixed to the last 30 days, that anyone with the link can open without a login.
